Roger M. Machlis
Managing Director
Roger M. Machlis is a Managing Director of Credit Suisse in the General Counsel division, based in New York. Mr. Machlis is General Counsel of the Asset Management division and Global Functional Head of the AM Advisory and Control Group (ACG), which includes legal and compliance functions for AM globally, and Head of the AM Americas ACG team. He is a member of the following committees: AM Management, AM Risk Management, AM Compliance, AM Controls, AM New Products, AM Operating, and GC Operating Committees.
Mr. Machlis joined Credit Suisse First Boston in April 1997 as the principal counsel for the Emerging Markets Group, based in New York. Since joining the Bank, he has held a variety of legal and management positions, including the Head of the Securities division legal team in the US and the General Counsel of the Alternative Capital Division.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse First Boston in 1997, Mr. Machlis was a Vice President and Senior Attorney at Citibank, advising the international corporate finance, capital markets and emerging markets businesses, and a corporate associate at the law firm of Simpson Thacher and Bartlett.
Mr. Machlis holds a JD degree from the New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the New York State and City Bar Associations and actively participates in a number of industry trade associations.
