John Duryea

John Duryea is the portfolio manager for Ospraie Special Opportunities, a $1 billion fund launched in February 2006 that focuses on less liquid/private equity investment opportunities across basic industries and commodities.

Prior to joining Ospraie in 2005, Mr. Duryea was an original member and Managing Director at Ripplewood Holdings. He began his professional career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. as a member of the formalized merchant banking efforts in Private Equity, Distressed Debt and Venture Capital.

Mr. Duryea earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Yale University in 1987.
