Gilles Schwendiman, CAIA
Gilles Schwendiman, CAIA, Director, is the Head of Swiss Pensions within Alpha Strategies, based in Zürich. In this role, Mr. Schwendiman is responsible for the research, construction and management of a dedicated institutional portfolio of hedge funds investments larger than 1 billion USD.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Schwendiman was Head of Tactical Trading Strategies of the Hedge Fund Research and Selection team within Alpha Strategies. In this role, Mr. Schwendiman was responsible for the analysis and selection of hedge funds focusing on Commodities, Global Macro, Manage Futures, Systematic & Discretionary, CTA, Currencies, and Quantitative Strategies sectors.
Before to joining Credit Suisse, Mr. Schwendiman served as Head of Research and Head of Portfolio Management at Stenham Advisors, a fund of hedge funds based in London. Previously, Mr. Schwendiman served as a Senior Analyst at Nedcor Investment Bank within the fund of hedge funds operation. Formerly, Mr. Schwendiman served as a Financial Consultant within the actuarial division of Towers Perrin and financial Analyst at the Royal Bank of Scotland Plc.
Mr. Schwendiman earned an M.Sc in Finance from Cass Business School (formerly City University Business school) in 1997 and an M.Sc in Econometrics in 1994.
